The process flow of puffed corn strips includes the following steps:
Material selection: Choose red corn, yellow corn, or white corn with plump grains, no mold or insect infestation as raw materials, and sieve out impurities such as gravel and stones
Soaking: Soak the selected corn in water for 20 to 40 minutes. The soaking time is shorter in summer and longer in winter, allowing the corn skin to absorb water and expand, producing elasticity
Crushing: After soaking the corn and drying it, crush it into particles with a diameter of about 3 millimeters
Puffing: Put the crushed corn kernels into a puffing machine and extrude them into long strips with a diameter of about 6 millimeters and a length of 40 millimeters through high temperature and high pressure
Boiling sugar: Add an appropriate amount of water to sugar and sugar syrup to make a sugar solution. Put it in a sugar pot and boil until it can be peeled off. Then pour in washed and dried sesame seeds, stir slightly, and remove from the pot
Hanging slurry: Pour the boiled sesame syrup into puffed corn strips and mix well. Spread it flat on a wooden frame on a cutting board and use a wooden hammer to compact and flatten it
Molding: Cut the flattened corn strips into small pieces of 20 × 80 millimeters, and package them to obtain the finished product
